Did the Motorola Photon Pass Through the FCC?
Motorola and Sprint announced the Photon 4G last month, since then there hasn’t been much news on the device. All we have is a not too specific “July” launch date, and last time I checked that’s what month we’re in right now. PocketNow reports that a Motorola WiMAX device has shown up in FCC documents. The device is not referredĀ to by name, but as model P56MD1. However with only one Motorola WiMAX device in the works for Sprint we can assume the docs are referring to the Photon. This is another step on the road to launch. Hopefully it comes soon, because when it arrives Sprint will have a dual-core beast on it’s hands.
Who’s waiting for this phone?

been waiting patiently. upgrade is burning a hole in my figurative pocket
Doesn’t appear to have CDMA SMR support, at least from these initial documents. It’d be quite disappointing if it didn’t.
I’ve been waiting to get my mitts on this since the rumors started. Looks to be a fantastic device. I just wish we could get a release date, or at least pre-order.
i can hardly wait im so ready
I love my evo (og) but inboard memory plus my 32gb card… Eww baby! And nooooooooooooooooo more low internal memory messages. and I will get the nettop dock too. Almost entry to at&t… Almost for the attrix. Almost.
-evo lover.
Ps I might even get one for the wife
I got a nexus s 4g this past week. So I expect to be well within the 30 days period by the time the photon comes out. So, should I swap my nexus s 4g for the photon or wait for the next nexus to upgrade? I am a purist in terms of OS but in no way obstinate on remaining one.
