Epic 4G Gingerbread Update is Getting Closer?

Posted In News - By Mark Hearn On Wednesday, July 13th, 2011 1:35pm PST With 10 Comments

Remember when we told you the Samsung Epic was slated to get Gingerbread this month, but didn’t have an official release date? Apparently game time is getting much closer, because Sprint has goofed up on their website and listed that the Epic 4G is shipping with Android 2.3 and one of our beloved Sprintsters was kind enough to share it with us. So if you still don’t believe the update is coming, you can go ahead and check for yourself while it’s still there! Of course we had to snag a screenshot of this as a souvenir. Hopefully there won’t be any delays with getting this highly desired update done. As for you current Epic owners, you could always visit your local Sprint store and pick up a brand new one, because remember it “ships with Android 2.3!”

Thanks, Greg!

I hope you don’t mind if I DON’T hold my breath this time around. How many months did we get teased with Froyo?

they’ve already listed it as end of life, so they don’t really care about the upgrades or their customers. After all, their financials were so fantastic…..oh wait…that was Verizon
