Motorola PHOTON 4G Update Fixes Voice Call Issues and Other Bugs
It’s no secret that we’re sweet on the PHOTON 4G, but everything that glitters isn’t gold. Far from perfect the PHOTON 4G has had its share of technical difficulties, with voice call issues being the biggest culprit. Worry not friends! Sprint has heard your cries and is working out the details of a fix. Update 4.5.1A-1_SUN-154_5 is said to resolve your recent woes and is rolling out as we speak. You can either wait for the alert to push to your phone, or try to manually grab it via your phone’s settings. - Improvements to voice calling to eliminate inadvertent voice calls defaulting to mute
- Improve stability, resulting in fewer occurrences of unresponsiveness
- Bluetooth support for mono headsets with the Sprint Visual Voicemail application

It still doesn’t fix the problem where the phone becomes unresponsive and reboots itself for no reason whatsoever. As a new Sprint customer I am very unhappy as I am now on my third Photon with the same issues each time.

ur not by urself buddy,i’m on my forth photon,and still having the same issues,the phone keeps rebooting,when i use the speaker phone it gets a lot of static and the other person can’t hear me,but the reason i havn’t totally given up on it is bcuz its daul processor is supper fast, and i hoping with the updates these issues will be resolved,i also was told by another photon user the it can’t open up pictures that r sent to u…
I did not fix my bluetooth problem – still no voicemail connect in vehicle.
same deal i really like the photon because of its quadrant and smart-bench scores but this rebooting is unacceptable… im considering getting the epic touch
I’m now on my 5th Photon and it randomly reboots, same as all the others. sigh. It is normally if i receive or try to make a call. This is very annoying and unacceptable. In an emergency I need a phone that is NOT going to reboot….
I have the same annoying problem, though my friends don’t. anyways I just found a temporary solution for this, it is not perfect but nothing we can do more until they fix the problem, so before I make any calls I turn on the 4G and off again and then I will be able to start the call with rebooting, very disturbing I know but it’s better than nothing
My phone reboots itself when I try to make an outgoing call. I guess it is some what comforting others are having the same problem, but I still don’t like it…
Sorry I can’t offer any help. Only writing to confirm that others are still having the same problem so it is not an isolated case and recent software updates haven’t fixed the problem.
As with many other users..my photon is alwaysssss rebooting randomly. It is extremely annoying because it only tends to do this during calls. Im thinking of switching phones. I can not tolerate this. Will there be an update to fix this issue soon?
