[Rumor] Sprint’s Galaxy S II to be Called Epic Touch 4G and Launching in September

The highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S II has been at the top of a lot of Sprint customer’s wishlist, but clear details such as: a name, design and release date have yet to officially be released. For the longest time Sprint’s GSII variant has been referred to as the “Samsung Within.” There have been multiple sources reporting this, with even alleged pictures surfacing online. In an interesting turn of events tech blog BGR has claimed to have the inside track on the upcoming Samsung superphone. The blog goes on to state that the handset will be officially called the “Samsung Epic Touch 4G” (almost sounds like an HTC name to us) and that it will see a September release. With a name from left field and no tangible documents or images to support this, we’ll have to file this one under: Wait and See. No matter what the case may be, we know a Galaxy S II is Sprint-bound and should be here sooner than later.

I am happy with my photon. Love the motorola radios.
I liked Samsung Within better but it really doesn’t matter, it should just be called a Galaxy SII but for whatever dumb reason we have to name all of our phones.
I really hope it comes out in August. iPhone 5 is expected in September last time I read anything about it, so they’ll be shooting themselves in the foot if they release it close to that, or after it’s been announced for sure.
If the iPhone comes to Sprint and it’s released before the GSII I might just buy that. This waiting months after the UK got it and even after Canada got it is really pissing me off.
