Would You Like to See the Xperia Play Come to Sprint?
Tech junkies and gaming usually go hand and hand and these days smartphone-based gaming is really taking off. When we think of mobile gaming, aside from the phone with the fruit, the Xperia Play almost instantly comes to mind. Even though the Now Network has a deep roster of Androids, the Xperia Play has remained elusive. This really got us wondering how you guys felt about Sprint picking up Sony Ericsson’s PlayStation certified handset? Since we’d be the last to get it, we’d expect to see some WiMAX action to compensate for the wait, but that’s just our two cents. Be sure to share your thoughts via the comments below and let us know whether the Xperia Play is a purchase or a pass?

Sprint already has a decent line-up of phones and WiMAX shouldn’t be much of a priority in the face of the LTE deal.

Six months ago, I would have cared. I don’t care about this phone at all anymore. It doesn’t seem that great compared to what is out now and what will be coming out in the next month or two.

Honestly, I’d rather Sprint carry the Pre 3 than the Xperia Play. Of course, more choice is always good, so how about BOTH?!

that’s the problem with sprint’s phone offerings. Everything is just meh, nothing really sticks out. I’m still holding on to my 2 year old phone because nothing that has come out recently looks great. I don’t want gimicky phones with 3D or dual screens, I want a solid, non buggy phone with great battery life that isn’t the size of a small flat screen television.
If it was stock Android, then i really would let that replace my Nexus S. Well until the Nexus 4 comes out.
At least with a dual core of 1Ghz or more and minimum 1GB of ram. Then I might be interested in getting one. This phone can not compare to the new phones coming out now. If it was available when the Epic or Evo came out, I would have chosen this phone…….

I love Sprint and will stick with em. Just got the Evo3D (love it) but would have gotten the Persia if it was available. I would still pick one up if Sprint started carrying it. You pick up a whole new user base with physical controls. Imagine a PSP with a phone radio!
id get this rather then the stupid evo3d (i mean come REALLY a 3d phone is that really that cool?) ive been waiting for a phone like this for a while and ive heard it runs emulators like a champ and that would be the only reason id get it! (well as a nice phone and as a nicee gaming device

We’ve had Sprint for nearly 15 years, and we do not ever anticipate changing. Our oldest son is about to turn 13 and REALLY wants the Xperia play for his birthday, but I’m not going to start a separate cell account just so he can have it. I’d love to see it be available on Sprint, so we could get it for him.

Ive been a loyal sprint customer for over twenty years, I don’t care about the upgrade price difference, Sprint, get this phone and I will buy it now. I have 2 young sons and we all have smart phones. If you brought the iphone, why the hell did you not bring the play???? The iphone is clearly just a fad anyway. Bad manouvre, fix it, get it, so your customers can buy and enjoy it. Get with the now, so we (your customers) can have it now!!!!

You are the real and ONLY cellular provider that is truely unlimited, so why are we, your customers being limited to certain phone models? Some of us men want that Sony phone. The Play that is. I bought my wife your iphone so she would shut up about the damn thing. I have a motorola photon, piece of shit that it is anyway. If you don’t bring it then iv’e no choice but to go to Sony and buy an I version on cdma so that you can hook it up and I can toss the photon. You should know that Verizon is getting this phone to people for 0.00 for a new 2 year. Sony sells it unsubscribed for close to $300.00 or an unlocked for a little less. Ebay? forget it under a $100.00 all day long. Help us get that for Christmas.

I would absolutely love to see the Xperia play come to sprint. There isn’t really a good option for non touchscreen gaming in the cell phone world, especially from sprint. I’d consider jumping to verizon if it weren’t for the atrocious data pricing.
I am not really a gamer, but I only buy sony products. My whole house is sony from my alarm clocks to all the tvs, stereos, games. The only thing missing is my cell phone. My wife an I have the samsung epic 4g and we have been very disappointed. I would have bought the sony without even trying it out first. I look at sony like a toyota. It may not be the best but it will last forever. Please bring sony to sprint. I have been with sprint since I was 18 and I am 30 now. I do not want to switch providers

I love the fact that it is playstation certified and I would like to have a phone with an actual gamepad on it.
If Sprint wants to compete with Verizon and At&t they really need to start getting more of the latest phones. The iphone was a good start but the Android phones like the Note and Xperia are game changers.

A little late, but yes please. Please. Please. I want this phone specifically for playing emulation, which is what finally sold me on upgrading to a smart phone. I’ve had the same cruddy phone for 6 years. Naturally I decided this right after everyone got rid of unlimited data… except for sprint.
