iPhone 5 to be Announced on October 4th?

Posted In News - By Mark Hearn On Wednesday, September 21st, 2011 5:50am PDT With 5 Comments

The folks over at All Things D are reporting that Apple will hold a press event to officially announce the coming of the highly anticipated iPhone 5 on October 4th. If their claim holds up this would be new CEO Tim Cook’s first major public outing as Apple’s new frontman. We’re pretty sure that an early October announcement would translate to a mid-month release at the earliest. As a side note, Sprint’s senior management will be holding a “Strategy Update” event just a few days later on October 7th. This could very well be an opportunity for Sprint to publicly make a statement and provide details about the iPhone’s arrival. However until we hear any specifics from either company, we’ll have to file this one under speculation.

Highly opinionated and somewhat eccentric he shares his ramblings about his network of choice here at SprintFeed.

Bring it Sprint. Some of us are interested in a phone that we don’t have to root or do a hard reset just to get it to work properly after an OS update. And while not everyone has had these issues with Android, those of us who have are likely to bail when the iPhone shows up on Sprint. Some won’t agree with that and that is their choice. Whatever works for you. I’m a musician and there are too many music apps that i want and need that are iPhone and iPad only.

I think the Iphone 5 will buy Sprint some time against the competition regarding the 4G LTE plans since the device will be only 3G. Having said that I think they need to get aggressive regarding the deployment of LTE after next month. According to some reports yesterday Lightsquare finally fixed the GPS interference problem.

I personally will be getting the iPhone 5. I will still have my tablet so I’m not completely bailing on android. Don’t see why I can’t have the best of both worlds.
