LG Optimus S Users Getting Gingerbread Update Starting Today

LG had promised that the LG Optimus S would receive Gingerbread and it appears they’re making good on their word. Starting today software version LS670ZVH will begin rolling out. The update is said to reach 100% availability within ten days, so please be patient. In addition to a bump in OS numbers, you’ll also be treated to a few fixes as well. Be sure to check out the list of enhancements below and if you’re among the lucky ones that happens to get the update today, be sure to share your experience.

Enhancements/Fixes:

- Volume adjustment from handset when backlight is off and in a Bluetooth call

- Initiation of a 3-way call in certain markets

- Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)

- Updated color scheme (includesdarker notification bar and black-based menus)

- New on-screen keyboard (supports multi-touch input and a  smart auto-correction function)

- Improved cut-paste functionality

- New integrated download application for ease in accessing downloaded files

- Updated camera application

- Power management and task killer applications

    Wow Sprint. Do I need to start getting the lower end phones to get my updates on time. Sheesh! What about us Epic 4G users?!

    I have the update it great, just a few problems rooting with gingerbreak. Got apk installed, ran it but couldnt extract….hmmm, got any ideas?
