Motorola PHOTON 4G Gets WiFi Fix

If the last software fix wasn’t enough for you, the Motorola PHOTON 4G is getting another. VersionĀ 4.5.1A-1_SUN-154_6 is slowly pushing out to PHOTONs across the country and is said to “adjust WiFi functionality.” We’re definitely liking the consistent support that this handset is getting and we’re hoping this continues when it’s time to update to Ice Cream Sandwich. The update is said to take around 10-15 minutes to install and if you haven’t seen the push yet, you can also perform a manual search via your phone’s settings. As always, if you’re among those that have already received the update, we’d love to know how it’s treating you.

I didn’t realize there was a Wifi problem…. What about spending some time fixing the larger known problems?
What are those larger known problems? I’m curious, as I’ve considered the Photon for my December Phone upgrade.
Update takes root access (no surprise there), but I am having issues re-rooting. Hopefully its just the cable (Mine is at work and I don’t trust the Sanyo data cable I’m using) Will try again once I get to work.
my girlfriend has this version and still the wifi problem. Turning on airplane mode reboot phone and enable wifi works. Sometimes we can even disable airplane mode and wifi stays enabled. Other times as soon as we turn airplane mode off wifi will show ‘turning off’ re-enabling wifi results than again in ‘error’
This phone is very nice, but be aware it is very new technology. With that comes problems. I had to replace my phone once, for rebooting randomly. Today, I got numerous reboots, but it must be related to update, because it quit finally. Now I get the Wifi error. I think they may have release a little early.
I have the same problem my wifi say error, you did,
I did not receive any upgrade alert on my mobile for any fix. Is there a way to access this software fix through a non-sprint network – a network based out of India? Currently, my wifi does not work. I can use a SIM that has a data connection like 3G to connect to the web.
