Touch Screen Defect Could Delay iPhone 5 Shipments

According to some iPhone supply chain makers a defect in the iPhone 5′s touch panels could delay their shipment. The Wintek-made touch panels have been reported with a “delayed bubble” that is difficult to avoid when laminating the touch panel layers. The same process was used in the iPhone 4, so the problem should be fixed quickly. Wintek accounts for 20-25% of the total production of touch panels used in iPhone 5.

NOTE: I know many of you don’t see the point in reporting on all these iPhone stories since there has been no official indication that Sprint will even get it. However, there has been substantial evidence to support that Sprint may be getting some form of iPhone. Until someone officially says otherwise we will continue to keep you informed about the iPhone, just like any other upcoming device we think might grace Sprint’s airwaves.

i agree that you should keep up the iphone articles until it is officially announced. as for their being a delay i think it will be resolved quickly since apple doesn’t want to delay the phone any longer.
Does one know what the price of the iPhone 5 will be for a Sprint customer with a 2 year upgrade awaiting the device? Thanks.
Well, then the iPhone 5 may be delayed, but if this problem doesn’t exist on the iPhone 4S, then that may not be delayed. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. If the iPhones don’t come to Sprint, hopefully the Nexus Prime does. And if not that, then the Photon is the only other option left for me. It’s a “Google Phone” too, sort of. Well, actually not, given it was created before the big takeover, but maybe it will get the updates right after the Nexus.
I agree. Keep posting any iPhone info you have. I appreciate it. Others will too.

If you have a 2 year upgrade that you will have it for 200 without a 2 year ittl be 650
no thanks Nexus Prime for me
I think the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 was closer to 800 off contract.
Can I ask why you’d take the Photon over the epic 4g touch?
