Samsung Galaxy Nexus Coming to Sprint?

Posted In News - By Joe Fedewa On Friday, October 21st, 2011 12:08pm PDT With 23 Comments

Well what do we have here? BriefMobile got their hands on a Sprint purchase order that mentions the “Nexus Prime,” which we’ve all come to know as the Galaxy Nexus. Basically this means the G-Nex is in Sprint’s computer system, which is a very good sign. We’re still hesitent to believe Sprint will have the device at the same time as the other carriers since only HSPA+ and LTE versions were announced, but this is still a step in the right direction. Who wants some Ice Cream Sandwich?

  1. I really think that it will come to Sprint. After seeing Google bring the Nexus S 4G to Sprint and their integration with Google Voice I think it will happen. It just may not be at launch in November.

Can’t wait for this to come home to Sprint..this might be the first phone i actually pre order/wait in line for

  3. Perry Ahern says:

Notice the “ship date” says 10/17/11. Why would they have already started shipping posters to the stores if the phone wouldn’t be coming out early in the product rollout? This better be true or someone’s getting hurt… ;-)

was that before the the delay? Remember the original announcement was for the 19th.

    please be true..

  6. Irfan Katchi says:

I hope it comes with Sprint’s LTE radio so when LTE finally rolls out next year we can use it then. I am fine with 3G and wifi for now! Let’s hope it comes this year.. 2011 !

  7. STARGATE says:

At this moment and the way so many new phones are coming out I don’t think anybody should be camping or forming long lines for any new phones. The only phone I ever form a line for was the Palm PrÄ“, I will never do it again for any other phone. Unless there’s a new webOS phone coming out!

  8. Daniel Bobke says:

Looking good…I will be first in line.

  9. Jmacdaddio says:

Hmm…. maybe it’s time to invest in camping gear so I can be the first in line.

  10. forget about the phones for the moment and build your freaking network.

While I think Sprint is going to get the handset eventually, I’d be very surprised if it happened this year. With the iPhone just released, the SGS2 a few weeks ago, and the Kingdom next week, I think Sprint has their hands full for the rest of the year. Maybe early next year as one of the launch devices for the LTE network.

This manifest is for signage. Sprint is going to be posting signage for Nexus Prime in the next 2-3 weeks. This means we’ll get Prime about a month after VZW. This is the best news i’ve heard in months.

  13. Mario Lira says:

daang i really hope it come to sprint this year!

  14. Ron Boykin says:

Yea, camping out for a phone is not my style but I hope it does come to Sprint soon cause I’m due for a update so I might have to hold out a while longer. I’ll keep using my Palm Pre for now! I’m not really a iPhone person and I’m really trying to avoid one!

  15. I was honestly hoping we wouldn’t see a variant until closer to the LTE launch.. I’m personally going to wait for a Exynos 4212 powered device.

  16. Redd says:

Sprint’s behind in the wireless game.

  17. Phillip Noisewater says:

There is an upgrade on my account right now, hell it has been there since Dec. 10. Here is the phone I am purchasing for my pocket. This will replace my old school BlackBerry 8830. Dan and friends make this happen.

  18. Phillip Noisewater says:

BTW I just had the crap-berry fixed at my local sprint store and I asked about this phone. The manager said it would be a few weeks. I was just making an offhand comment but he said it would be a few weeks. His comment along with this packing slip make me feel very concrete about it’s future at Sprint.

  19. Kmsguru says:

Amen, I do hate to say the plans are cheap but the signal strength (except for major cities maybe) does leave me wanting
