Sprint Blocking Tethering Apps in the Android Market

Posted In News - By Joe Fedewa On Friday, October 28th, 2011 3:17pm PDT With 7 Comments

Bad news for tethering fans. Apparently Sprint is following in AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon’s footsteps by blocking tethering apps in the Android Market. Now if you visit the Market and bring up certain tethering apps you’ll be greeted with a bright yellow disclaimer stating “This item is not available on your carrier.” We can’t help but wonder if this move has anything to do with Sprint’s recent network woes. Less tethering = less data usage = less network strain. Of course you could always sideload a tethering app from a developers website, but you didn’t hear that from us.

So much for “Open” and Sprint supporting it. That explains why I no longer can find their disclaimer for open.

I knew this would happen..sprint has always been the little network that could, but rhis time they bit off more than they could chew,by getting the stupid overrated iphone..their network cant handle the amount of traffic..JUST LIKE AT&t…my brother got the iphone on sprint ,and you all should see how lame slow it is! It takes up to TWO minutes to download a page! Come on sprint! Improve your network!
