Have you realized over the past four weeks that your new smartphone is a bit more fragile than expected? Of course you can pick up an awesome case. But if you had it to do over again, you’d most likely cough up the extra $99 for AppleCare+.

Well it appears that Apple has had a recent change of heart. Our Super Spies have slid us an internal communication, which advises that they’ve decided to extend the purchase period for their in-house protection service by thirty days. As for those of you that purchased your iPhone 4S on launch day, worry not! Apple has also extended your AppleCare+ purchase option to 12/15/11. Now before you hightail it on down to your local Sprint store, please note that this service is only available through Apple.
