Apple Extending AppleCare+ Purchase Period by Thirty Days

Are you among the masses that picked up a launch day iPhone 4S, but opted not to pony up the cash for Apple’s AppleCare+? Have you realized over the past four weeks that your new smartphone is a bit more fragile than expected? Of course you can pick up an awesome case. But if you had it to do over again, you’d most likely cough up the extra $99 for AppleCare+.
Well it appears that Apple has had a recent change of heart. Our Super Spies have slid us an internal communication, which advises that they’ve decided to extend the purchase period for their in-house protection service by thirty days. As for those of you that purchased your iPhone 4S on launch day, worry not! Apple has also extended your AppleCare+ purchase option to 12/15/11. Now before you hightail it on down to your local Sprint store, please note that this service is only available through Apple.

Nice, actually, the wife wanted an iPhone, the AppleCare+ is not a BAD deal, per se. However, having to pony up the extra $99 at time of device purchase was a bit hard to swallow. Being able to re-budget that over 30 days will help.
