Google I/O Extended to Three Days and Moved to June 27th – 29th

If rubbing shoulders with Android developers from all corners of the globe is your idea of a good time, then you might wanna grab your Android powered calendar aka your smartphone. Normally a spring time affair, the latest rumblings from Mountain View is that Google’s “Innovation in the Open” conference will be pushed back to June as a summertime shindig.

Aside from a change in date, El Goog has also elected to add an extra day of festivities to their showcase. Now before you start booking flights and calling the babysitter, Google is advising that you hold off on making travel arrangements until their new application process opens in February. Their less than subtle hint suggests that you’ll be needing to flex your coding muscles to join in this year’s reindeer games.

Considering that word on the street is that a true EVO successor is in the works. Perhaps the search engine giant will beĀ feeling a bitĀ nostalgic and have a flashback to 2010′s show, which saw them going the Oprah Winfrey route and generously dishing out some shiny new EVO 4Gs to all of their attendees. Yes, it’s wishful thinking, but come on this is Google that we’re talking about, stranger things have happened.

I remember that Oprah had an EVO before anyone else. Didn’t let anyone touch it.
