Posted In Featured, Polls - By Mark Hearn On Saturday, December 24th, 2011 10:42am PDT With 14 Comments

2011 arguably brought the best smartphone lineup that Sprint customers have ever seen. We’ve managed to narrow things down to a top five devices, but we need your help deciding on which was the best of 2011. Please be sure to cast your vote and leave a comment telling us which smartphone you think was the best of 2011. Of course if you think we’ve made a mistake here, feel free to tell us your top five Sprint smartphones from this year.

After dealing with the iPhone and owning a Photon and currently toting a GS2, by far id say Epic 4G Touch gets my vote, but the Photon is a close second, the iPhone 3rd, then Evo 3d, then the Nexus.

HTC Arrive, I just hope Sprint will keep up with ATT and get some more Windows phones in 2012.

  3. Rich Wolf says:

You missed the best phone…The HTC Arrive. Great hardware and the best OS.

  4. Anonymous says:

Unfortunately, Sprint missed (the point) too by chasing yesterday’s hotness (iphone) and ignoring the potential of the next great phone OS. The impact of mortgaging the future for that stale OS is going to have long lasting repercussions.

Not an iPhone user, but after playing with every other smartphone on sprint, my favorite is the Epic 4G Touch. Photon comes in a close second.

  6. smartphoneIT says:

Definitely the Arrive until the next WP 7 upgraded smartphone arrives again. How about a higher resolution screen on a HTC Titan form factor. My daughter does like the Samsung Epic 4G Touch I recommended to her, but if the next iteration ala Titan had been available that would have been my recommendation. The best OS without question!

The galaxy s 2 is clearly the best device hands down.

The Nexus S 4G…it’s an honor to have my phone in the same poll with “the big boys” lol…I quickly fell in love with it and when people see it and mess with it their reaction is always the same…..they are always wowed lol

  9. Most people voted for the phone that has TouchWiz and is lacking NFC – something ALL carriers are pushing big time – an epic touch fail in my opinion…

I voted Nexus S 4G – my reason? Its the only phone Sprint carries that is still fast, has NFC, and Google Wallet – something no other phone has yet (without aftermarket modifications of any sort). Biggest reason the Nexus S 4G is the best Sprint phone this year…

ITS PURE GOOGLE! No Sprint customizing, no Sprint branding, no bloatware, and Sprint cant limit the phone.

The iPhone without 4G status on Sprint is just as reliable as any other phone on Sprint, which isnt worthy of being used. It sucks.

It seems like the majority of Photon owners do not read this site, oh well, we all know the Motorola Photon is actually better in so many ways compared to the iCrap and others. If it only run on webOS it would be the perfect smartphone!

  11. Rich says:

The only lasting repercussion of adding the iPhone to the mix is a reduction in churn of customers to Verizon or AT&T because of that phone. Adding it was a necessary, albeit expensive, move on Sprint’s part. Now they are guaranteed access to the next few editions of the iPhone which the iCrowd will line up for like good soldiers.

  12. Jpizzle says:

Yes photon is superior to all other phones, end of story!

I had to go with the EVO 3D. I’m not an iPhone fan (because of the lacking features) and the other phones have the same specs but w/o 3D. They’re the same price, so you’re basically getting the 3D feature for free. I love the builds of HTC and with this thing rooted it’s a beast. Beats Audio, 1.94GHz dual-core processor, free hotspot, Sense 3.x, and more. I love showing off my full length 3D videos and games to people who never seen 3D before. It blows their minds. Even my friends that gave up their EVO 3D for other devices are impressed when I show them what it can do with some tweaks.

yeah right I have the photon and I absolutely HATE it its such a locked down piece of trash compared to the droid x 2 or the bionic its soooooooooo laggy same software same hardware yet the bionic is BUTTER smooth and the performance benchmarks on the photon is also much lower the epic touch 4g is 10x the better phone the only thing I’m going to miss about this piece of crap when I get the epic touch 4g is the damn kickstand not to notice how crappy the screen is it has the most annoying red tint especially when taking pictures
