Where do You Buy Your Smartphones From?

More often than not we’ve found ourselves talking about what our next smartphone purchase will be. However, there’s one specific detail that tends to get left out and that’s where this important transaction will take place. Sure there are Sprint stores everywhere, but do they have the best deals? Always hunting for a bargain, we’d like to know where you normally purchase your smartphones from and why?

I always go to best buy. There is never a line and I don’t have to deal with mail in rebates. For me that’s a no brainer.
We have used Best Buy to get our last few sprint phones. Once they started with the “instant rebate” system where you wouldn’t have to deal with the hassle of waiting a month to get the rebate back. Of course now Sprint has caught up to that but Best Buy will still keep our business especially with things like the $50 gift card promotion they just ran.
I’ve usually gone to Best Buy, my most recent purchase was an update for my husband. I used Amazon, they had a fantastic deal on his Samsung GSII, better then Best Buy or anywhere else. It was really easy, the only downside is having to wait for shipping, but it’s worth the savings.
Best Buy all the way.
I’d love to go to the Sprint Store, or radio Shack, or Best Buy, …
No choice, though. SERO gives, and SERO takes away.
I get a good price on service, but am locked to telesales for upgrades.
I usually buy online because rebates and discounts, but bestbuy is my second choice because of friend’s hookup.
Best Buy
So far I have always gone to rhe Sprint Store, but with 2 upgrades in the next couple of months I plan on shopping around. I have seen to many good/great deals at Best Buy and Amazon go by when I wasn’t upgrading.
When I upgraded to the Epic 4G Touch, Amazon Wireless was selling it for $150 while Sprint and Best Buy were selling it for $200. For the next upgrade, I’ll definitely check Amazon Wireless first.
RadioShack
best Buy or radio shack
it’s the least of all evils – first choice is Best Buy. second choice is Sprint Corporate Store. online would be nice but i want it NOW!
Will never ever get locked into Sprint for another contract term. Following all the changes they made over the last number of months they are, like the other Big 2 completely untrustworthy. With my old phone long out of contract, I waited and got an EVO Design 4G just two months after it was released, on eBay. Clean ESN, no nonsense, and authenticated with no hassles. I’m just waiting for the haha moment when Sprint suddenly announces no more unlimited plans for phone data, sometime before the next iPhone release, crying about how that they are just maintaining parity with all other major carriers. Of course that 65 mil they will’ve paid back to Lightsquared and the ungodly debt service plus their disgustingly poor profit numbers, the huge subsidy they pay Apple to make the deal with the Cupertino Devil only makes the ground beneath the What Now? network more unstable.
Wirefly. No shipping and no sales tax and no rebates. I was shocked last time I bought a phone that Best Buy charged sales tax on the full phone price. The time before that was waiting for rebates, one of which never came because the phone broke and I deactivated it.
Online, got my EVO 4G for $99.99 when Sprint and Best Buy were selling it for $199.99.
Wireless giant,toys or universe
Wherever it is cheapest.
Company buys them direct from sprint sales rep
wherever the best bundle/discount is.
Bought my evo near launch at best buy. the market has become more competitive since July 2010, so I think that will help me when I buy my new lte phone.
i bought my bb tour at the sprint store for 200 i think
Being a sprint employee I go through a rep rewards site. U’d think we’d get em cheaper than everyone else but nope I pay sprint store prices. I do get an upgrade every 6 months tho
You can actually go to the corporate store for SERO plans.
i say wherever is cheapest, and that is usually Wirefly
Going to be the same here, since just starting last week, gonna buy the White Epic 4 Touch as soon as possible. Then when lte phones arrive I’ll probably get one of those.
On contract, I shop around. I’ve bought mostly directly from Sprint. Buying off contract, such as after using my Upgrade for the Evo 3D, then the E4GT was released, I sold my Evo 3D and got the E4GT, wound up paying less ($160) for the E4GT when subtracting the amount I got for the 3D.
Hint: If you plan on reselling your phone, keep your box. You can add up to $50 more on the value, that is, if you take care of your phone to begin with!
Wife and I both got GSII Epic 4G Touch in Oct. Amazon Wireless had them for $99 almost everywhere else they were $199 Come upgrade time will look at AW again, maybe they will have all smart phones for $0.01 on cyber monday as they did in 2011.
i my self say best buy great ins. plan no 100 deductible
I got my last phone at the local Sprint store since I could try out the phone before I got it. The service at the store is also pretty good. In the future I might get my next phone from Amazon since they have really good deals all the time on phones.
Craigslist for me…
Best Buy Mobile is where I get my phones. Great selection of phones and cases plus the salespeople there are great. Big shout out to those guys at Best Buy in Orange, California.
I purchased my iphone from the Sprint Store
They have an airwave in most if not all stores… painted pretty pictures Haha
Sam’s Club (Works in store I don’t know about online) pays a 40 dollar credit for members
i got paid to upgrade
.96¢ Photon + $36 Upgrade – $40 Credit = Paid $3.04 to upgrade to a $700 phone on contract
iPhone 4S eat my Deal!!! (Some $649 – subsidy to 199 plus the upgrade fee)
(The credit showed up the next week on the bill)
Sams has the cheapest price around if u have one in ur neighborhood GO! you save soo much money
(the price can change in 2-3 days so buy quick when low and wait out high
(epic touch was 48.88 along with the Photon when i bought and next week Epic at 98.88 and Photon at .96¢ so the nice ppl there gave me a refund to the .96¢ price and all was well)
