Report Says 7.85-inch ‘iPad Mini’ is on the Way, but Would You Actually Buy it?
With Apple’s iPad 3 event less than a week away, the rumors are really starting to ramp up. But one on again off again rumor of a 7-inch iPad is really starting to gain some steam. DigiTimes is reporting that a 7.85-inch version of Apple’s popular slate is already in production and is said to hit retail as early as third quarter 2012.
If this story pans out, it shows that Apple is going in a completely different direction under its new leadership, as Steve Jobs openly opposed the thought of a 7-inch tablet. Perhaps they’re feeling the burn of Amazon’s budget friendly Kindle Fire and Barnes & Noble’s Nook? No word on what is type of internals to expect from the “iPad Mini,” but it’s said that you could expect a $249 – $299 price tag. If a pint-sized iPad were to make its way to the Now Network with such a competitive price tag, would it be too hard for you to resist?

Yes, $300 for a 7.5-8″ tablet (even off contract) is way too overpriced. But hey, it’s got that $150 Apple logo on the back. That said, go right and ahead and fork over your money if you wish.
Not an apple fan, but $300 for a 7″ Ipad when the 16GB 4S with a 3.5″ screen is $549.99 off contract yea its cheap
Relatively cheap, yes. It’s still far overpriced for what it is.
I’d rather drop that money on an asus tablet. Either the original transformer or the prime. Boycott Apple!
