Sprint, DirecTV and T-Mobile Banding Together to Stop Verizon’s AWS Deal

Posted In News - By Mark Hearn On Tuesday, March 6th, 2012 11:36am PDT With 1 Comment

Sprint, T-Mobile, DirecTV and others are filing with the FCC to try and put a hold on Verizon’s AWS acquisition. The filing calls Big Red’s planned actions anti-competitive (where have we heard that before?) and not in the interest of the public. The opposing companies are requesting that all transactions be halted until the all legal documentation of this process has been disclosed. The FCC is yet to respond to these filings, but something tells us that it won’t be too long before them and the Department of Justice step in to take a look. The more things change, the more they remain the same.

Make no mistake, Verizon has PLENTY of spectrum available. They just want more to squat on for later.
