Who Will Make Sprint’s Next Flagship Phone?

As we continue to wait for Sprint’s LTE to go live, we find ourselves spinning our wheels wondering what type of hardware will follow with the launch of a new network. Sure we know that Google’s Galaxy Nexus is on its way and it’s likely that an LTE iPhone and Galaxy S III are in the pipeline as well, but what about exclusive hardware? As great as these devices sound, they won’t be exclusive to Sprint and they’ll definitely be available elsewhere.
This made us wonder, who will make Sprint’s next flagship phone? Sure many are assuming that we’ll see an LTE EVO from HTC, but that doesn’t guarantee that it will be Sprint’s true flagship. Actually there’s nothing guaranteeing that Sprint’s flagship will be an Android device. With that said, we’ve grabbed the four major manufacturers that Sprint has a history of working with and asked that you cast your vote telling us who you think will make Sprint’s next flagship smartphone. Feel free to take advantage of the comments and let us know which operating system you think will power Sprint’s next big device.

Samsung, then HTC, then Motorola
I’m betting on the Samsung Galaxy S III. HTC also probably has a nice Sprint phone coming. I’m not all that sure about LG and Motorola though.
I am praying for an LTE( atleast 800/1900) EVO RAZR HD MAXX. Super Amoled HD plus display. Heck they could keep the same specs other than display and battery life and I would love it.
I’m going to take LG. It sounds like the article is discussing an exclusive phone for Sprint. HTC has their One series so that won’t be exclusive to Sprint and I don’t see them making another phone outside of that series. Samsung is going to go in on the Galaxy S III and there is no way that will be exclusive for Sprint and I don’t think they will release another phone next to the Nexus. I feel like Motorola has decided to put their chips in with Verizon, but they would be my second choice. LG has yet to really break in big with any carriers in the US so I could see them offering some exclusiveness to Sprint.
I know what Moto’s got in the works and it’s gonna be them. The chipset is what’s holding everyone up for Sprint, everyone’s in the same boat. They’re on their way, hold tight.
If you are right then I sure hope they bust out with a battery like the Razr Maxx has.
HTC One phone then moto will out someting in the okay-high-med range and sammy with GS3 Epic Touch LTE
I’d go even for non-exclusive
As long as LTE is up and running (and spreading fast) and data still stays unlimited…
im thinking GS3, with an LTE Evo coming in a close second
What do you mean it wont’ be Android? RIM sucks, web os is dead and iphone5 is gonna be a long ways out and certainly won’t be a Sprint exclusive. So what else does that leave M.r Hearn? Android is a lock if you wanna bet on it.
You’re forgetting about Windows Phone.
I hope is HTC EVO it has been the best since it came out on Sprint. I think they should keep it the same.
LOL
Not a difficult thing to do.
Motorola would probably be the most likely because of how close Sprint and Google are
For flagship type devices, probably one each from Samsung (GS3), HTC (EVO LTE), and probably Apple. Motorola is an unknown right now, but a RAZR’esque device or Photon follow up are probably good bets.
If Sprint is intent on launching 12-15 devices this year, the back half of the year might be kinda busy. Between the four above and the three already announced you already have half their lineup for the year.
I’m looking forward to see what Moto has up its sleeve. They have the ability put out some decent hardware. One without any kind of Blur would be nice too.
I’d like to see LTE 800/1900, but I doubt we will see those until next year and then they would probably include compatibility with Clear’s LTE network. Time will tell.
alot of current EVO owners have an upcoming upgrade months away.. Alot will eat up anything from HTC. I previously was an HTC fanboy but im turned off by their tepid unsleek/unsexy phones. Im looking into a Samsung now, possibly a samsung galaxy SIII. In conclusion, on Sprint… people care about HTC/ SAMSUNG and then of course the IPhone 5.
HTC EVO II 4G LTE > SAMSUNG GALAXY SIII EPIC TOUCH II 4G LTE > MOTOROLA PHOTON II 4G LTE > LG OPTIMUS 4G LTE > KYOCERA/SANYO ECHO II 4G LTE > ZTE FART
These names, of course, are all speculation. But I believe this is what the Sprint hierarchy will be like later this year.
Sprint is beginning to look pretty sad when compared to the selection of phones available. i find myself looking at verizon with their galaxy nexus in which by time we receive ours it will be outdated. then i look at the skyrocket and lets not forget the galaxy note. its almost to the point where they are no longer the now network. i envy them and am sort of embarrassed to be with sprint. hopefully things will look up once again because right now this is some BS!
I haven’t spent much time with Windows Phone, but I don’t see it being the next flagship phone.
