He toted a Palm Pre as agent Jack Bauer in Fox’s hit series 24 and it appears that the network is hoping that lightning will strike twice. Last night Kiefer Sutherland made his return to TV teaming up with Fox yet again for the debut of their science fiction drama Touch. Taking on the role of Martin Bohm, Sutherland may be trading in his gun to play the role of a single father, but he appears to be staying loyal to his mobile carrier.

While checking out the show (which was okay by the way) we couldn’t help but notice that Sutherland’s new character was rocking what appeared to be an HTC EVO 4G. In an effort to keep things spoiler free, we’ll go as far as saying that America’s first 4G smartphone actually played an interesting role in this new show. In another Sprint related twist, Touch is written and created by Heroes creator Tim Kring. For those of you that know your TV and Sprint history, Heroes was pretty much a walking Sprint ad. It just goes to show, the more things change, the more they remain the same.

Following up with their recent blitz of of anti-iPhone commercials, good old Sammy is at it again. The latest installment in their Next Big Thing campaign continues to poke fun at a group of hardcore hipsters camping out for the launch of the next iPhone. The thirty second spot features the roommate of one of Apple’s loyalist using his Galaxy S II’s turn-by-turn navigation to locate him and his fellow campers.

Amazed by the fact that the navigation app is pre-installed, a member of the bitter flock exclaims that they’ve been “Samsunged!” This ad campaign may rub a few people the wrong way, but it sure is funny. Check out the video and feel free to share your thoughts on the massive mobile rivalry that is Samsung vs Apple aka Apple vs Samsung, depending on who you ask.

“You break it, you bought it.” At least that’s what many say, but of course we’ve got a completely different philosophy here. We believe that if you buy it, we’ll protect it!
